GROUND LOOP CONTROL

In this project a master ground loop is shared between 8 ground source heat pumps providing heating and hot water. A bespoke controller was designed to control the loop flow rate to achieve a delta T temperature in the range 4 to 6 degrees under varying load conditions. The built-in heat curve provides an efficient and a cost-effective way of ground loop heat delivery to the heat pumps.

HEATING LOOP CONTROL

This controller was designed to control the heat distribution from a single ground source heat pump to several dwellings. The heating loop flow rate is dynamically controlled to achieve a delta T temperature in the range 4 to 6 degrees. A PID controller is implemented to achieve the best optimal loop control and efficiency.

MULTIPLE HOT WATER TANK CONTROL

A bespoke controller was designed and installed to implement the heating management of two hot water cylinders installed at 30m apart in a ground source heat pump heating system. The controller monitors each hot water tank temperature in real time and connects the coldest cylinder to the heat pump (both hydraulics and the temperature sensors). The controller ensures a balanced heating of the hot water cylinders, the heat pump has been operating correctly since commissioning.

“A P Electrical have worked closely with Pure Renewables for over 13 years, principally in the electrical installation of heat pumps, underfloor heating and solar PV. His problem-solving skills are second to none and his experience and aptitude in setting up control systems has been invaluable. For a number of projects that required complex controls, Ahmad has designed, instructed the manufacture of and installed bespoke control boards to manage the integration of multiple technologies.”
